Brent Morison- As chief mechanic, brent is responsible for all aspects of preparation / repairs / maintenance for both race cars. Brent is certified gas fitter, ticketed plumber, master fabricator & welder and has an impressive personal collection of hand built motor sports toys- too many to list in-fact, you’ll have to ask him during the next race weekend. Brent lives in Kootenay Bay with his wife Erin; they are both new members of Area 27 and enjoy member lapping days. Brent is also an accomplished moto-cross rider and volunteers as a control rider for Hard Knoxx.
Nikola Racunica - Our second newest member of the team joins us from the world of 2 wheeled motorsports. Nikola assists Brent in all aspects of preparation and execution of race weekends. As a master certified Ducati mechanic, his expertise and wisdom have helped fuel the success of our teams’ program. When not at Area 27, you can find him either at his specialty service shop Motomeccanica or at the Mission Raceway where he competes fiercely on 2 wheels.
Collin Seib - As chief data analyst and Gin consumer (off-duty + inside joke), colin is responsible for translating all data collected from practice session & races into strategy topics with Paul. These insightful discussions have led to several break thru’s on chassis set-up and driving technique; one of our favourite one liners from Colin while de-briefing with Paul was “soooo, why do you coast before braking into 8?”. Colin used to live in California, enjoys beach volleyball, surfs, and is currently building a monster Nissan 240Z with a 5.0L BMW V8 running a custom engine management / fuel injection system.
Jarek Kanigowski - Fondly referred to as Boris due to his incredible good looks and piercing blue eyes (which make him look somewhat Russian); Jarek is responsible for capturing all media content for the team. His passion for technology have resulted in several significant advances in our ability to promote our story, and frankly have added a new level of fun to the team. While capturing drone footage of big red on the way to the race track on Black Sage road, he narrowly avoided flying into the power-lines, lost GPS connection with the drone, retrieved it from a field near Phantom Creek Winery and then just before the final hairpin to the entry of Area 27 flew the drone into the front windshield of the Volvo tractor trailer. Infamous one-liner from Boris : “ why didn’t you swerve out of the way?”
